Nutrition Publications

The mission of the UMass Extension Nutrition Education Program (NEP) is to provide individuals, families, and communities with the knowledge and skills to manage their food resources effectively and enjoy healthy foods, and physical activities for longer and more fulfilling lives. Our materials are designed to promote healthy lifestyles that reduce risks of obesity, chronic disease, and foodborne illness, and build vital, productive communities.

These publications contribute toward this mission by helping individuals and families apply the principles of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and MyPyramid in their daily lives.  Most materials were developed for the NEP audience, which includes low-income families with children, pregnant and parenting teens, youth, and young adults.

Publications are grouped by most appropriate audience, recognizing overlap in most categories. Materials available in Spanish are included within each section.
