This one-day conference is designed for managers and employees who work outdoors: arborists, tree wardens, municipal managers, DPW workers, city planners, surveyors, foresters and landscape architects. UMass Extension, the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation and the USDA Forest Service sponsor this annual event. Everyone who works outdoors - whether on the street, in a park or in a client's backyard - is exposed to a variety of potentially issues every day.
This year's conference examines strategies and designs to promote urban tree survival, re-greening the City of Springfield, pruning to reduce the risk of tree failure, MGL Chapter 87, shade tree diseases, and where we stand on invasive insect management. This conference is designed for everyone working outdoors with trees in New England.
