9:30 – 10:30 Downy Mildews of Greenhouse Crops

Learn about this important disease, symptoms on various crops and management strategies. Downy mildews infect ornamental plants, herb and vegetable plants including important crops such as basil, Impatiens walleriana and coleus. In 2010, Downy mildew was diagnosed on garden impatiens in the landscape in Massachusetts.

Root diseases often go un-detected until the damage is done. Learn about root diseases such as Pythium, Thielaviopis, Phytophthora and Rhizoctonia prevention and management strategies.
