Mass Aggie Workshop Series

Join the CDLE Team for our upcoming workshops about raising livestock, horses, and poultry.  Learn best management practices to ensure good care and health of your animals and environmental stewardship of your land.

There will be three workshops held throughout February and March.  Taught by Extension educators and industry specialists, these workshops will focus on specific livestock groups and provide detailed information about pasture and hay, manure and mud management, weeds and poisonous plants, breeds, breeding, housing, and nutrition.

Each workshop is designed to have a morning and afternoon session.  The morning session will have continuous presentations, focused on manure and mud management, pasture and hay, and weeds.  The afternoon session will have two concurrent presentations, split up into livestock group.

Severe weather this summer brought devastation to many Massachusetts farms. Making a bad situation worse, hundred year flooding from Tropical Storm Irene washed away farmlands, farms, livelihoods, families, and in some cases large chunks of rural communities. Coping with a tragedy of this magnitude demands a full court press.
